New Job - What Happens Next?
Congratulations you have a new job to look forward to.
Here’s a quick checklist to ensure the onboarding process runs smoothly and everything is in place before you start your new role.
Paperwork – Please don’t hand in your notice until you have an official offer letter from your new employer. Whilst we don’t expect any issues, we want to make sure all parties are happy, and you have all the details before you tell your current employer of your decision to leave.
Start Date – Once you have handed in your notice, please confirm your start date with us and send back all requested paperwork to your new employer, this will start the onboarding process.
References – Your new employer may request references, once you have the paperwork and have checked everything is ok, please inform your references that your new company will be in touch. Please provide their name, position held, email and telephone number to your new employer.
Qualifications/ID Documents – Before you start, Fern Recruitment will need to confirm all your required qualifications and ID Documents. Your new employer will need to do the same, so please be ready to provide this information promptly as any delays can have an impact on your start date.
New company point of contact –Your new company will stay in touch with you, we would encourage your contact to be either your new manager, H.R or a senior person within the company. We will cover any queries, but having the option to go direct is also important and will help you start to feel part of the team.
Stay in Touch – We will be speaking to you weekly but if you are concerned about anything please call and we will be able to resolve the issue quickly. You can also contact us outside office hours on [email protected], and we will aim to respond on the same day.
Let’s have a catch up – Our job doesn’t finish once you have started your new role, if you have any queries, please let us know and we can approach our contact direct on your behalf. The first few weeks can feel a little strange whilst everyone adapts, we are here to provide continued support and offer further guidance until you have settled in.
