The clocks are going back and that means an extra hour in bed… for me, this means a Hyrox race at the NEC Birmingham which I have been training for over the last 6 months.

Held across 30 counties, the competition started on 25th October with the main races taking place on the weekend. The top athletes will finish the race sub 1 hour (this wasn’t me!) but for all it is a challenge based on endurance, strength, and mental toughness.
Here’s the challenge
8 x 1km plus 8 work stations after each run
Ski – 1000m
Sled Push – 50m
Sled Pull – 50m
Burpee Broad Jumps – 80m
Row – 1000m
Farmer’s Carry – 200m
Sandbag Lunges – 100m
Wall Balls – 100 reps
Admittedly I love these types of challenges but it’s a super way to develop mental toughness whilst helping with stress relief (it’s difficult to think of anything else!)
